milliondollarbc tnThe Million Dollar Breakfast Club happens every Sunday year round from 7:00am 9:00am.  It tends to be a smaller gathering but always has interesting cars and people.  Most car gatherings are pretty friendly but this one particularly so and I always find myself getting into great conversations with folks and staying way longer than I had intended.

peninsulacandc tnThis is a little complicated.  So the old Peninsula Seniors Cars & Coffee gathering was taken over but the PV concourse folks (I think).  They started hosting it on the top parking deck of the nearby PV Promenade mall.  That was pretty good but the parking lot wasn't nearly as nice.  Also the Starbucks was down several flights of stairs and never seemed to be able to keep up with the crowds.  Then Covid hit and since it's an "organized" event it was shut down completely.  Several months later and despite allowing a friggin craft fair they're still not allowing us back into the new spot.  Screw it.  A bunch of us decided to show up at the old location at the old time (7am) and get coffee and pastries at the nearby Starbucks.  We've just started doing this so there isn't nearly as many cars showing up but we're spreading the word.  Come join us while we enjoy cars, coffee and pastries and collectively thumb our mask covered noses at the death spore.

La Cañada - Early RoddersHappening every Saturday 6:30am to 8:30am this is a good gathering of a wide variety of very nice cars.  In addition it sits at the base of Angeles Crest Highway which is an excellent drive to take after the gathering.  Word of warning though.  The CHP does NOT play around up there so keep your shenanigans to a dull roar.  Also be mindful of motorcycles.  Squids will come around blind curves into the oncoming lane.  Blood washes off easy enough but those damn bikes can dent the crap out of your car.  😱

wheelsnwaves tnThis is a great show in Malibu.  It used to be in front of Malibu Kitchen but has moved to the Peet's Coffee lot across the street.  I like this location a bit better as it offers a bit more shelter from through traffic giving it a more exclusive feeling.  Fireball Tim and the guys with him are very active making sure things are organized and folks enjoy themselves.  The show happens the third Sunday of every Month year round from 7:00am to 9:00am.  Peet's Coffee of course supplies the morning go-juice with nice patio seating where you can relax and watching the goings on.  A DJ plays good music and interacts with attendees keeping things lively.  Celebrities are known to attend so that adds some interest as well.  Fireball Tim does a rad show and I'm gonna try to make every one.  BTW check out Fireball Tim's vlog.

Panoramic pic of the last gathering at Ruby'sUpdate 9/13/20: This WAS a good gathering.  Friggin 2020.  City of Redondo wants a mall or condos or some other larger tax base built on this site and would not renew Ruby's lease.  Word is local residents are suing since this would screw one of the last ocean front views left in the area.  Even though Ruby's was closed We had a farewell gathering in the parking lot on 9/13 and it was more packed than I've ever seen it.  I still hope some miracle happens and Ruby's can come back.  Probably wishful thinking. 😢

Ruby's Car Show-Redondo Beach

This is a pretty good gathering of cool local cars of all kinds at Ruby's in Redondo Beach.  It runs every Friday during the warmer months falling between Daylight Savings.  Some of the regulars actually show up as early as lunch to get the best parking.  I'm usually there around 3:30pm staying til 6:30pm.  It's a great social gathering of car guys and beach folks.  You also get a lot of interesting European tourists come to check out the car show.  I'm always getting into great conversations (and some arguments) with folks there.  Always enjoyable.

Sponsored by Ferrari South Bay and hosted by Caffè Tre Venezie in their parking lot this smaller gathering features primarily Ferraris of course but other exotics attend and all makes and models are welcome.  It happens on the third Saturday of every month from 7:30am - 9:00am and there's free coffee and delicious pastries.  Not sure why but they like you to register on their webpage here.  Guess they want to make sure they have enough coffee.  I'm starting to enjoy these smaller gatherings as they seem a little friendlier than the big ones.  Couple that with the interesting people in attendance and this is a fun time.  I'm looking forward to the next one.
